Window Awnings

One of the first things that new winter visitors always say is “Boy, it sure is hot here”.  Arizona is hot all summer and stays hot until it is not.  The interior of your RV is affected by the direct sunlight that gets in.  Blocking those direct rays of sunlight will keep the inside of your RV substantially cooler.  Window awnings are a great way to achieve this.  Window awnings are also a very attractive addition to the exterior aesthetics of your RV.  There are many styles and fabrics to select from.  To learn about the best window awning for your application, call and speak with an awning expert today.

Slide-out Awnings

Slide Topper Awnings are a great investment. The not only look great on the RV, they play a critical roll in protecting the top of the slide out. A Slide Cover Awning will prevent leakage of water into the unit from the top of the slide, it will protect the rubber roof from trees, foliage and debris.. In Arizona the slide topper keeps the sun from directly hitting the top of the Slide Room keeping that area nearly 15-20 degrees cooler when it is covered. There are several different types of slide cover awnings available. Different looks, different functions and different pricing.

New Slide-out Covers

If you have purchased a new RV or new-to-you and there are no slide-out covers, you may want to consider the benefits.  Slideout covers exist because the top or exposed roof of the slide box is delicate.  Debris from overhead trees and such presents a risk of serious damage to the roof when extending or retracting the slide.  To that end, in Arizona, Slideout covers take on a whole new necessity.  When the direct sunlight is piercing down on your RV, the slideout room will become noticeably warmer than the rest of the unit.  The Slideout Cover protects the roof and keeps the slide room 10-15 degrees cooler in the summer.  In Arizona that is a lot and a requirement for happy RVing.

Slide-out Cover Fabric Replacement

Do your slideout covers need attention? Has the sun-beaten the fabric to a nasty-looking disaster at your roofline?  We replace these awning fabrics every day.  Slideout fabric is designed to wear out. Generally, two to five years is a good lifetime for vinyl slide fabric.  When replacing these fabrics there are a few things to consider.  One is if one slideout fabric is completely gone or showing serious need of attention, you can bet that any other slide fabrics are not too far behind.  When you do one, you might as well do them all.  We offer multi-slide discounts in vinyl, so be sure to ask your awning expert about these discounts when you call to order.

Slide-out Fabric Selection

There are some choices when it comes to slideout fabrics.  Most RV manufacturers who install slidecovers at the factory, install an exposed vinyl fabric.  This fabric has a lifetime of 2-4 years before needing to be replaced.

  1. We offer vinyl replacement and the same lifetime.
  2. As an alternative, we offer slideout covers in the Acrylic fabric. A true SunBrella fabric has a guaranteed life expectancy of 10+ years. Compared to vinyl, you would not have to consider replacing slideout fabric again for over a decade. Most of the large motorcoaches use this fabric for their slides.  There are many color choices to select from to make your RV look fantastic!  See acrylic fabrics for the color chart.

Omega Awnings

Omega awnings were discontinued by Carefree of Colorado several years ago. But the RV Awning Company can service these awnings and has fabric custom made to replace your worn out canopy. “How to Measure” The Omega awning is unique as it is a slide cover that also becomes a window cover. Replacement fabric is measured by taking the width of the slide from flange to flange and then the distance the slide comes out away from the coach. And note if there is a valance or an aluminum cover for your awning. All Omega fabrics are acrylic and custom made and sewn by our master craftsman. A variety of color choices to choose from. Installation and replacement hardware are available for the Omega Awnings.
